Thanks to your donations, the Foundation purchased a new handheld fetal Doppler for the Maternity & Pediatrics Department. Sara, a registered nurse in this department displays the Doppler. This state-of-the-art equipment is used to listen to babies heart rates and rhythm prior to birth, enabling the medical team to monitor fetal heart sounds and identify any fetal distress. The mobility of the Doppler is another great benefit for labouring moms, as it allows them to move around freely because they are not attached to continuous monitoring.
