Support for All Ages
Mental Health Matters Campaign
Now in its second year, the Mental Health Matters Campaign is making meaningful progress-and thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are halfway toward our $2 million goal.
This transformational campaign is helping revitalize mental health care across the Kootenay Boundary region by improving critical facilities at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH): the Daly Pavilion, Harbour House, and the Pediatric Outdoor Space.
Together, we are helping create safer, more healing environments through facility upgrades, modern medical equipment, trauma-informed spaces, and therapeutic areas designed to support individuals of all ages. While important progress has been made, there is still work to do. With your continued support, we can ensure compassionate, patient-centred mental health care is available closer to home—for today, and for generations to come.
The Mental Health Matters Campaign will deliver key benefits at each facility:
The Daly Pavilion
Since 1970, this acute care psychiatric unit has seen minimal updates. Planned renovations will enhance security systems, create therapeutic spaces that promote healing, and replace aging furniture to ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for both patients and the dedicated healthcare team providing mental health care.
Harbour House
Renovations will improve this residential rehabilitation facility for adults with severe mental health conditions. Upgrades include enhanced security measures, modernized living spaces, and therapeutic resources such as recreational equipment, games, and welcome packages—all designed to foster healing, independence, and reintegration.
The Pediatric Outdoor Space
For children and youth under 18, we will establish a separate, secure zone to ensure safety and privacy. Additional improvements include recreational equipment and a dedicated area for family visits, fostering a supportive environment for healing.
