KBRH Health Foundation Receives $100,000 Matching Donation from Teck for Mental Health Matters Campaign
Trail, BC (November 20, 2025) – The KBRH Health Foundation is excited to announce that this year’s Light-Up the Hospitals! Pledge Day receives a tremendous boost, as Teck generously matches donations up to $100,000—doubling the impact of every gift. These contributions will directly support the Mental Health Matters Campaign, a $2 million initiative dedicated to improving mental health care for patients of all ages in the Kootenay Boundary region.
Funds raised will support critical upgrades to three key areas at KBRH: The Daly Pavilion, the hospital’s acute care psychiatric unit; Harbour House, the residential rehabilitation facility; and the creation of a Pediatric Outdoor Space for children and youth. Together, these improvements will ensure patients receive care in environments that are safe, nurturing, and healing.
“Teck has a long and proud history of supporting healthcare initiatives in the Trail region, dating back almost a century ago,” said Matt Parrilla, General Manager, Teck Trail Operations. “We’re honoured to continue that legacy by pledging to match the first $100,000 in donations made during the Light-Up the Hospitals! Pledge Day, in support of the Mental Health Matters Campaign at KBRH. With this latest commitment, Teck Trail Operations has now contributed more than $1 million to healthcare campaigns in the region since 2000. Mental health is a key priority for Teck, and this campaign represents a vital step forward in enhancing care in the community including the development of a Pediatric Outdoor Space, helping to ensure that mental health services are revitalized and accessible to those who need them most.”
