KBRH’s Simulation Education Department has added a new lumbar puncture trainer, giving medical students and physicians a hands-on, low-risk way to learn and refine this important (but infrequently performed) procedure. Designed to better reflect a range of patient experiences, the trainer helps make simulation more realistic and inclusive. By practicing in this environment, care teams can strengthen their skills, reduce unsuccessful attempts, and help minimize complications—so they’re ready when it counts. This addition came directly from identified training needs within KBRH. Pictured is Helen, Simulation Knowledge Coordinator, with the new trainer supporting ongoing education and safer patient care across our region.
